Tamara Webb The Balance Queen

What can I say about social media sensation Tamara Webb, also known as The Balance Queen? Of course nothing short of “she’s amazing!”

Meeting her over Zoom I was impressed with her openness and outgoing personality.  I should have known that there was going to be much more to this woman than meets the eye. We are instantly comfortable talking to each other even though we have never met before. I never realised that she was so hard working and a natural entrepreneur too, and instrumental in setting up and running of popular enterprises like The Balance Queen, Jar, Carb and many other creative projects she has already lined up.

It’s obvious that a lot of what she does comes natural to her and its just who she is. But I’m curious and want to know more about how she got started and what and who inspired her.

She explains to me that she always had a good eye and that she graduated with Honours from the Institute of Art and Design. She tells me how inspiring the course at MCAST was and how much of what she learnt there she is now putting into practice: “besides designing products we were also taught and had to learn how to sell them to the consumer, so much of what I’m doing today is actually what I graduated in”. We both agree that continuing your studies and doing something we have a passion for is really important because then, going to work every day is much more enjoyable and meaningful.

We chat about how other women in our lives empowered us and helped us to gain confidence in ourselves and the importance of women supporting each other and encouraging each other to try new stuff.  Tamara tells me about how she always worked and having had another woman, especially someone like Marisa Grima who encouraged her on her photography when she first started out which gave her a confidence boost at a time when this sector was very much male dominated. We talk about how we should never underestimate the power of encouraging and complementing each other. We realise that we have many female friends in common who we love and admire.

Tamara tells me about her struggles with infertility and how finding the right gynae who we trust is fundamental for us as women and that we should not feel bad changing from one to another if needs be. She tells me how she had once made the mistake and pushed her body and mind to the limits and how now she’s finally found #balance – Her mantra today! Yes, I totally agree too, extremes are dangerous and it’s easy to fall into an extreme situation without realising, and it can happen to anyone of us once we start fixating or obsessing on something or even someone. I too believe that balance and a bit of everything in life is needed to keep our body and minds healthy.

We can chat for hours – but alas we are both very busy, but before we go I want to know all about the latest products Tamara Webb has in store for her followers – she shows me a really cool baby organiser ‘Baby & Pregnancy Planner‘ and her latest journal – ‘The Balance Queen Journal‘!

I really wish I had the baby organiser carry all when I was raising my baby….. I love her style and hint at possibly having a specially designed “Tamara Webb for Women for Women” item to sell for fund raising……… “hmm I’ll think of something good ta” she tells me. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with! In the meantime, check out her website and follow her on Instagram.
