Women For Women Foundation assists vulnerable women in social and financial crisis on a daily basis – women who are poor or sliding into poverty, who may be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, who suffer from health problems, who may be at risk of violence, who are young or expectant mothers, or who have suffered a sudden accident or loss, leaving them in crisis. As a voluntary organisation, an internal framework as well as increased human resources were required to process the increasing amount of daily requests for support. For this reason, in March 2021, Elle-Evate was launched – a 12 month project that aims to strengthen the organisation’s capacity to meet its operational goals by building an operational framework, engaging and training volunteers, running a pilot for 3 months and evaluating the progress for any required fine-tuning.

Thanks to the framework, the Women For Women Foundation can continue working efficiently by utilising its resources well and implementing needed safeguards to all partners, donors and beneficiaries. Training volunteers helps to improve the volunteers’ own competences whilst creating value within their own volunteering contribution whilst training new volunteers themselves, promoting the multiplier effect at the same time. Simultaneously, vulnerable women are provided support through the foundation by donations of clothes, shoes and uniforms, baby items, school books, groceries, detergents, emergency rescue funds, appliances, training fees, laptops, and more. Such assistance leaves a considerable impact on the lives of those facing a financial emergency, meeting their most basic needs, in collaboration with their key social worker.

Elle-Evate supports the contributions of volunteers from our local community who engage with the foundation to deliver a service that mitigates crises for women with multiple complex needs. Community solidarity is at the heart of this initiative, which is only possible with the input of volunteers and the support of this fund.
