At Wham we believe in supporting our local community and as a “relative” to the women only Facebook community Women for Women we too believe in supporting and promoting women’s voices and empowering women.
During the pandemic many women have lost their jobs or can not leave their homes due to being vulnerable, or having to stay home to home school their children. As usual women have risen to the challenge and turned their hobbies or skills into money making opportunities. Now more than ever it is important for us as a community to come together and support each other. Yes, the convenience and vast choice of well-priced products on Amazon may tempt us to go for the quick and easy option but if you are looking for something unique and local whilst also helping to support your local community look no further, we have you covered!
Through our portal we aim to support and promote women starting out in business, politics, art, and as professionals in various fields. We have various lists carefully compiled with inspirational businesses and professionals. We have now also added a directory of local women led small enterprises – it is amazing how entrepreneurial women can be. Check out the list here – you will find that almost anything you need can be produced or crafted locally and personalised to your specific needs. Most of our women led businesses can be easily contacted directly and offer delivery so you don’t even need to leave the comfort of your home!
Wham is a social enterprise – meaning that our first priority, is providing a service to our local community and not profit. Of course, like every enterprise we need to be sustainable and our only way to be able to do that is through advertising and collaboration. Our small but passionate team is here to bring you information, lived experiences, and also business opportunities. If your business is on the list or if you want to add your business to the list or you have a product to tell everyone about – contact us for more information on how we can collaborate by sending an email to [email protected]
