std tests malta

Would you know where one can go to have STD tests where results are given out quickly without having to wait more than 48 hours?

For an HIV test we have rapid tests which give you a result in 20 minutes.
For Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea, although there are rapid tests which can be bought from pharmacies, they are not very sensitive. So I would recommend the normal lab testing which does take around 5-7 days for the results to be back.

There are rapid tests with better sensitivity that we are currently working on introducing at the clinic in the next few months, but this is still work in progress.

Several STIs, in particular HIV and syphilis can also be transmitted from mother to child during pregnancy and childbirth. Symptoms are unpleasant and may cause considerable pain, and have systemic complications…”
